New Year, New Resolutions?

by - January 04, 2014

Every year around this time, I sit down with a new notebook, a fresh pen and a cuppa (seriously, am I British yet?) and try to come up with a list of things that I want to accomplish in the year to come. These are more commonly known as resolutions, but unfortunately I fall into the category of people who usually forget about those resolutions come February. But not this year. I know, I know everyone says that but I'm really going to try my hardest to keep all of my resolutions this year. I came up with 10, because I'm a little OCD and I like a nice round number.

1. Reach my goal weight, and be the healthiest me.
This is such a stereotypical resolution and people never stick with it, but I've already lost about 30 pounds, so by the end of 2014 I hope to have reached my goal weight.
2. Make the Cosmo man.
I don't want all of my resolutions to be serious ones, and I've been trying to make the Cosmo man for the last 2 years and have yet to actually get them all. So this year I will have to remember to go out and buy each months issue.
3. Save money.
I am so bad with the very little money that I do have, so this year I need to save up as much as I can because there are a few cheeky little things that I would like to have by this time next year (like a Macbook).
4. Drink less (or maybe none).
I don't drink alcohol very often which is especially good for me considering I only have one kidney, but I think 2014 should be an alcohol free year for me. I don't need the damage to my body, or the endless calories. Plus everyone knows I'm still a riot even when I'm sober.
5. Run a 5k.
I am the worlds worst runner, and even though I'm fully aware that running can be harmful to your joints and whatnot, I want to be able to run. Even if it's not an actual race, I want to be able to run a full 5k.
6. Be spontaneous.
I am an overthinker in every aspect of my life. This year I just want to do, no thinking about each and every possible outcome, just go out and live life (as long as it's legal lol).
7. Write more.
I used to write all the time. About anything and everything and now the only place I write is here. So 2014 is not only going to be a good year for blogging ( hoping to blog twice a week) but also for personal writing.
8. Reach 5,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel.
By no means did I start my channel to become "YouTube famous" or to be popular. I started it because it makes me so happy if a video of mine puts a smile on just one person's face. But I will admit it is nice to know that people like the content you are creating.
9. Organize and keep my house clean.
I'm a self-confessed messy jessie. I love to have my room completely clean and organized, but let's be real that usually only lasts for about a week tops. So I'm going to do my best to keep my house as clean as possible, because a clean room equals a clean mind!
10. Smile more.
Even though I like to think of myself as a happy person, I recently found out that my face can look quite cold and bitchy when I'm just out and about, and I absolutely don't mean anything by it. So I want to smile more this year, and hopefully I'll be able to help make other people smile as well.

So I'm counting on you guys for help to make me stick to these resolutions. Let's make 2014 our best year yet!
