Top 5 Bold Non-Traditonal Winter Lipsticks

Happy Tuesday Loves!

I am so sorry about the lack of blog posts last week, I got so caught up in other tasks that I just wasn't able to create anything I was truly happy with. But I am back this week with a whole bunch of posts that I'm very excited to share with you all! The first being my top five favourite, bold and non-traditional lipsticks for the Winter season! Phew, that was a bit of a mouthful.
I have always been a big lipstick lover, I rocked a red lip in middle school, and had the biggest collection among my friends come high school. There's just something about a beautiful lipstick to pull together your makeup look, and I don't know about you guys, but I seriously feel naked without something on my lips! That being said, lately I have been getting more and more adventurous with the colours that I'm choosing. I used to envy the women who had the confidence to rock any lipstick out there, and now I kind of feel like I'm one of them. I am a strong believer that anybody can pull off any colour, so long as they like it and feel confident wearing it!

So if like me, you guys are a interested in trying something a little more adventurous, and a little less traditional than your usual pinks and reds, then keep on reading to find out what colours I'm loving for Winter!

Colour Pop has easily become one of my favourite brands for liquid lipsticks. They are so affordable and the formula is just as good as some of the big designer cosmetic companies. I have tried every one of the different finishes they have, and even though the ultra mattes can be a bit drying, they still apply like a dream and as long as you're using some lip balm as a base you should be okay! And the ultra satins are my personal favourite formulation. Giving a finish that is a cross between a matte and a cream lipstick, and it is far less drying!

Kapow is a gorgeous purple grey, in an ultra matte finish. And I think it is just such a different alternative to your typical nude lip, and is a great first step into the world of grey lipsticks.

If you're looking for something a little more direct and are ready to jump right into the deep end of the grey of things, than Stone Fox is the colour for you. This Nyx Liquid Suede is silky and has a velvety-matte finish that is absolutely stunning. And you'll be sure to stand out in this colour, I've seen it on many different skin tones and honestly it has looked fantastic on all of them!

Midnight Blue is the first blue lipstick I ever bought. I figured since it was darker it would be a more subtle introduction to blue lipsticks and would be great for the Winter season. And I was right! This colour is part of the Loaded Bolds line, and is the perfect navy colour, I'm seriously obsessed. And rocking this has given me the confidence to rock a brighter more vibrant shade come Spring.

Another colour I was a little hesitant about at first was green, because seriously how many people wear green lipstick? The answer is not a lot, but I fell in love with Dr. M, another shade from Colour Pop, and just could not say no. It is a deep blackened green in an ultra matte finish, and is seriously the coolest lippie that I own.

Finally we have Hutch, which if I'm being honest doesn't stray that far from traditional lip colours, but it is pretty vampy and I know that some people are a bit scared of that so I figured I would include it in my recommendations. Described as a deep blackened violet, this lipstick is an ultra satin finish and is my go to lip when I want something dark, without having to wear black.

So there you have it, 5 seriously cool, super bold and non-traditional lipsticks that anyone can rock this Winter!

Much Love,
Spenser xx
